Head of the Department (HOD)

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Head of the Department (HOD) for Computer Science & Engineering to lead one of our largest and most dynamic academic divisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining rigorous academic standards, fostering a culture of research and innovation—particularly in AI/ML and Data Science—and ensuring students are prepared for careers in top-tier global companies. This role requires a sophisticated blend of academic mentorship, administrative management, and strategic planning for national accreditation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Leadership: Oversee the delivery of the JNTUH curriculum while integrating advanced 'beyond-the-syllabus' technical workshops in Full-stack development, Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
• Faculty Mentorship: Lead and develop a high-performing team of professors and assistant professors, encouraging advanced degree completion (PhDs), Scopus-indexed journal publications, and successful research grant applications.
• Accreditation & Quality Assurance: Direct the preparation and documentation for NBA, NAAC, and NIRF rankings to maintain and enhance the department's prestigious status.
• Industry Collaboration: Establish and manage MOUs with technology leaders such as Microsoft, AWS, and Google to facilitate specialized labs and internship opportunities for students.
• Placement Strategy: Partner with the Training & Placement Cell to ensure students gain mastery in coding, data structures, and emerging technologies to meet the recruitment standards of global MNCs.
• Student Innovation: Oversee departmental technical festivals, hackathons, and the incubation of student-led startups to foster an entrepreneurial spirit.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from a reputed institution (IIT/NIT/IIIT or a top-tier state university).
• Experience: A minimum of 12 years of experience in academia, with at least 5 years in a senior administrative capacity (e.g., HOD or Dean).
• Research Record: A strong portfolio of publications in recognized international journals and a proven track record of guiding Ph.D. scholars.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a large department and drive measurable growth in terms of academic excellence, admissions, and placements.
