English & Communication Teacher (Early Years)

Role Overview

Sri Sai Kids International Play School is seeking a dynamic and vibrant English & Communication Teacher to foster a language-rich environment for our Early Years students. Our curriculum is specifically designed to focus on 'Phonetic Awareness' and 'Confident Expression.' In this role, you will be instrumental in helping young learners develop essential listening, speaking, and early reading skills through a creative blend of storytelling, rhymes, and interactive literacy games.

Key Responsibilities

• Phonics Instruction: Implement a systematic phonics program (such as Jolly Phonics) to help children decode words and build a robust foundation for reading.
• Vocabulary Building: Design daily activities that introduce new words in context, utilizing visual aids, props, and real-life objects to enhance the learning experience.
• Storytelling & Drama: Lead engaging 'Circle Time' sessions featuring puppet shows, role-play, and expressive reading to spark children's imaginations.
• Early Writing: Guide students through pre-writing skills, including fine motor development activities and basic letter formation.
• Language Immersion: Maintain an 'English-positive' environment where children feel encouraged and safe to express their thoughts and needs in English.
• Parent Communication: Provide regular updates on language milestones and offer actionable tips for parents to encourage healthy reading habits at home.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Linguistics, or a related field. A certification in Phonics or Early Childhood Education (Montessori/NTT) is highly valued.
• Experience: This position is open to freshers (0 years of experience) who possess a genuine passion for early childhood education.
• Language Proficiency: Exceptional command of English with a clear, neutral accent and impeccable grammar.
• Interpersonal Skills: A warm, energetic personality with the ability to sing, act, and modulate your voice to keep young children fully engaged and inspired.
